A section of Depot Road (Route 107) will be closed for several days starting April 5th due to railroad track repairs.
CSX Transportation is repairing 124 miles of track along the Downeast Corridor from the Massachusetts line to Brunswick, Maine, beginning April 1. Crews will work in eight-day increments, with six-day breaks, through mid-July.
The Town has been informed that work in East Kingston will begin on April 5th and will continue through at least April 8.
Mutual aid partners have agreed to provide support to maintain response times. Should calls be received west of the tracks, East Kingston Fire will request an engine from the Newton Fire Department and an ambulance from the Kingston Fire Department.
Motorists should plan alternate routes in advance.
