PORTSMOUTH, NH –Twenty local, county, state and school first responders and emergency managers from Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire participated in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Type 3 All-Hazards Incident Management Team training this week sponsored by the Seacoast Fire Chief Officers Mutual Aid District and the New Hampshire Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
The overall goal of the Incident Management Team (IMT) program is to train leaders to function under the National Incident Management System (NIMS) during a large and/or complex incident or major event.
This course is five (5) full days in length, Monday through Friday, and presents a demanding environment during simulations to create an incident management environment similar in nature to a large scale incident. This course was last offered in the state in 2013.
