2017 was the busiest year EKFD has ever had. There was a large increase in both Fire and EMS calls.
Although we don’t usually share specific call information for many reasons not the least of which is HIPPA.
We thought it important to point out that our largest increase in calls is on the EMS side and Opioid abuse and overdose is a big part of that. Yes, even in our little town. It’s January 18th and we have had 2 overdoses all ready this year in our little town.
If you or someone you know may have an issue with any type of substance abuse we want to help and want you to know that help is there. You can stop by the fire station Monday – Friday 6:00am to 6:00pm and most Saturdays 8:00am to 4:00pm. You can call 911 and help will be summoned for you. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
